Tranquil lands cover the lower half of the great continent of Zulthan. It's covered by dormant sand and littered by eroded mountains, all reflected in the name it carries now. Char'attar. Scortched earth. A name given to it by the first people who wandered through its seemingly endless oceans of dust. In past times, simple constructions would gently sail across the desert surface, small nomad tribes that moved from place to place. A constant race for water and food.

Nowadays such journeys are undertaken by massive convoys of good, seeking their way to one of the grande markets, such as the golden market of Sen'dari. Most of the people live around or near these markets, or have still retained their ancestral nomad lifestyle.

Char'Attar is known as the great desert continent. It's a part of Zulthan, a highly magical and technologically advanced world. Most people live in either one of the great cities or as nomads, travelling from place to place.

Char'Attar has a few main characteristics.

- There are many traders in this world. The world is rich in materials, minerals and other goods, but they are often available in only a single area. This has led to the creation of a vast trading network all around the main continent of Char'Attar.

- There is a constant war going on between the forces of good and evil. Ever since the events of the shattering, the world has become a permanent battleground, sandwiched between two planes that have manifested themselves on the continent. Celestials, demons and devils battle on a daily basis. The inhabitants of Char'Attar have been forced to choose a side in this battle. Most people have chosen to go with the Celestials, but some chose to join up with either a demon or the devils.

- Tears in the ground give passage to the nine hells, which can be found by digging far down into the crust of the earth. At multiple locations in the world there are also tears in the sky, allowing passage into the celestial plane. There are a few tears which lead to the abyss, but these are rare and mostly unknown. Tears that lead to other planes also exist but are really rare.

- The shattering has also blessed the world with soul anchors. These are special crystal artifacts, used by cities to keep their inhabitants save. Anyone that dies in an unnatural way but is linked to a nearby soul anchor will be resurrected near the soul anchor. These artifacts have kept most cities out of the inter-planar conflict.
