Char'attar is sometimes jokingly refered to as the tenth hell, given its harsh climate to survive, and the ongoing conflict making most of the continent dangerous to traverse.

Notably, the first layer of hell, avernus, has been doing worse (or better depending on your perspective) for the past century. Through the tears in Char'attar, forces of the celestials have been able to more easily enter hell, and their crusade is close to breaking through the first layer. Only Tiamat is currently standing in their way.

In an attempt to fight back, regular devil skirmishes enter the lands of Char'attar, raiding caravans and small villages. So far this has lead to a more staunch take of the populace against the forces of hell.

Its said that Asmodeus has been trying to mend the situation by finding allies among the people of Char'attar, creating cults that follow his orders. The witchhunt this has created is affecting the stability of the current order, but we'll have to see if it will cause it to crumble.
