THE GODS

In this world many gods exsist and have various amounts of powers and influence.

The Elder Gods were the first seven to stumble upon this world. They do not rely on followers to become stronger. Their power lies in how they manifest themselves.

The High Gods were later attracted to the world by its growing number of devotees. These gods rely on their followers to become stronger. Their power lies in the deeds and effect of their followers.

There are also other minor deities that are locally worshiped or otherwise have some sort of following.

The Elder Gods

At the centre of the trans-planar conflict stand Lathander and Myrkul.

Myrkul on the other hand goes by many names. 'The dark presence', 'bringer of doom', 'death incarnate' or simply 'death' are a couple of them. He is seen as the main source of evil in the world. Though is machinations are always with evil intend, his true purpose stays unknown.

Lathander is known as Char'Attars godfather. 'The great one', 'protector of all that is life and holy'. It is he that has faced the forces of evil from the beginning of the conflict. He's seen as the head of the celestial presence on Zulthan.

To the Inhabitants of the Pearl Islands, Mystra and Selûne are also known as the god mothers. They are their main dieties and protectors of their homelands.

Selûne, She who Guides, She who sees all. There are few things that remain hidden tho her.

Though good in nature, and gifted with the powers to see that which is yet to come, Selûne is disinclined to interact much with the world.

Mystra, also known as the Mother of All Magic, or Lady Magic. Mystra always had a dislike for Cyric, she knows better than anyone how dangerous chaos is, especially when combined with magic.

Her understanding of magic allows her to cast any spell, change shape, gift raw power of magic, or share magical knowledge of virtualy anything.

Her powers are mostly used to guide those that need her help, more often than not cryptic in nature. But like the cycles of the moon, Selûne's mood cycles too. It is then that she might decide to take action, revealing her highly destructive powers.

Silvanus is the least powerfull of the seven Elder gods, he's also known as the Oak father. Much of his power was lost in the destruction of the world.

Silvanus is worshiped by the elves, devoting their lives to keep their ancient history and  sacred ways alive, protecting whatever part of nature that still remains to this day.

Though much of his power was lost, his innate control over animals and plantlife still remains.

Umberlee has many names, as the creativity of sailors never seems to have an end. Goddess of the Oceams, The Wavemother, The Bitch Queen, or simply Sea Bitch.

She is both feared and revered by those that trespass her waters as her mercy might make the difference between living or an early burial at sea.

Cyric, the god of lies, deception and trickery. Destroyer of life, ender of days, murderer of civilazations. Though he served a good purpose once, but he chose the wrong path. He was slain, shortly after his betrayal was discovered.

His power was immense, deceiving the wisest of mortals, he could even shroud you from the vision of Selûne.

It is unsure whether Cyric has vanished after being slain or if some semblance of him still remains in this world.

The High Gods

The high gods came to this world, lured by the opportunity to gain new followers.

If you only had one word to describe the world of Char'Attar, no word would be more suitable than 'trade'. Natural recourses are spread thinly across the provinces. Char'Attar currently houses a trade network of hundreds of markets and thousands of traders.

It is this network that intrigued Waukeen, The Coinmaiden, enough to come to this plane of existence. Waukeen now funtions as the main deity of the trading society, protecting traders and blessing them with fortune. It is her face on the gold pieces, a symbol of the lady that blesses all with good fortune.

High up in the Grey Mountains, temples and shrines to Gond are plenty. The Dwarfs dedication to their crafts attracted Gond to this plane. Now they worship him and the other High Gods as true, renouncing the Elder Gods to mere pretenders.

His presence has helped develop many inventions, weapons, and even helped rediscovering some of the old technologies that were lost to time.

Gond has yet to built good relations with the other gods, as he's very secluded by nature.

In the west of Char'attar, few deities have as great of a following as Chauntea. She's the goddess of agriculture, the mother of the land, bringer of summers. Every summer a grand feasts is held in her name, thanking her for bountyfull harvests.

She is known as kind and forgiving, she watches over her followers like a caring mother. Her following is larger than most High Gods, but her magical influence in the world is limited. Her power pales in comparison to the other gods, so she tends to stay outside conflicts.

Chauntea's following is the largest in the Green Lands and Coastal woods. Small communities to her also exist all cross the rest of Char'attar.

Char'attar is a world consumed by conflict, so of course it didn't take long for Tempus to notice it. He's the god of war, lord of battles, honourable warrior. Many armies have the custom to pray to him before battle, offering a gift in exchange for a blessing.

Though a bit chaotic in nature, he sticks to his own warrior's code. Battle is neither good, nor evil, it is the neutral ground where conflict is resolved by blade and steel.

Barbarians, fighters, warriors from every corner of Char'attar prey to Tempus to favour them in their battles. His rules are to be followed by those that call themselves honourable.

"Be fearless, never turn away from a fight, and obey the rules of war."
